2023 was undoubtedly an important year for Viktor Hovland. Even though he is only 26 years old, it is safe to say that this was the season in which he reached golf maturity. Three victories on the PGA Tour (Memorial Tournament, BMW Championship and Tour Championship), victory at the FedEx Cup, runner up at the PGA Championship, third place at The Players and fourth place at the Open Championship.

All this earned the Norwegian champion a total prize money of 33 million, even if he doesn't have an exact perception of it.

Viktor Hovland, statements

“I knew the FedEx Cup brought in 18 million, but I really have no idea how much I earned in total this year” “I'm very proud of how I won those tournaments (the three victories on the PGA Tour, NDR).

At the beginning of the year I didn't think I would be able to win events like this." “I feel like I've made a big leap in quality for having done it”. But Hovland will remember 2023 for another victory. “The Ryder Cup was wonderful” “Obviously, winning the Tour Championship was a more important thing for my career, but the memories of Rome are moments that I will certainly remember much longer and more intensely than those of the Tour Championship” “Everything was perfect for us that week” “Luke did a splendid job.

Everything was prepared perfectly, and so, during the week everything went smoothly” “We had a plan, and we believed in it, and it was, even according to some American fans I spoke to, a great Ryder Cup” “It was a great event, and sharing it with all the people who participated was something exceptional”.
