At the end of the Investec South African Open Championship 2023, the fight for the final victory at the 18 holes becomes increasingly exciting. No participant seems to be able to take off and at the moment the podium is firmly in the hands of the South Africans, with the Ryan van Velzen-Jayden Schaper duo leading at -9 (-2 for the first and -5 for the second).

Chasing them, with just two shots behind and a score of -2 for today, is Louis de Jager.

Among the protagonists of the ranking there is also room for two Italians. Matteo Manassero keeps himself in the game for the final success with -7 despite a difficult day (+1), while Francesco Laporta joins his compatriot after signing a -3.

In the group in fourth position we also find the Swede Jesper Svensson, the French David Ravetto, the German Matti Schmid and the South African Dean Burmester who, with a score of -7, climbs 55 positions. Renato Paratore, despite not managing to climb to the top of the rankings, shows that he can still launch a decisive solo thanks to a score of -2 today and a total of -6, which puts him alongside the South Africans Oliver Bekker and Jacques de Villiers.

In summary, Italy once again proves to be a protagonist in the international golf scene, hoping for a satisfactory conclusion for the year 2023 and a promising start to the new season. Speaking of the tricolor flag, we cannot leave out the less favorable side of the situation.

In fact, today Filippo Celli and Lorenzo Scalise did not particularly shine. The former scored a +4 while the latter a +6, bringing them to the 69th and 71st position in the rankings with these overall scores respectively. The rules of golf are relatively complicated compared to other sports because they are applied outdoors, close to nature and animals.

Respect for the rules is a basic element in the game of golf, which, almost always based on the self-control and free conscience of the players, often sees distorted results, consciously at times, but often unconsciously or through carelessness, due to non-compliance on the part of many players of the game rules.

In addition to rules, golf adheres to a code of conduct, known as etiquette, which generally means playing the round with due respect for the golf course and other players. Etiquette is an essential component of this sport.
