Tommy Fleetwood delighted many with his performance at the Dubai Invitational. He secured a one-shot lead over Rory McIlroy and Thirston Lawrence. After the end of the tournament, Fleetwood had an interesting interview in which he talked about his emotions after the end of the tournament and his goals for the next period.

"Feels nice. This thing's heavy (the trophy), but I'll fall asleep with this thing on my lap. I'm very comfy right now." - Fleetwood said, quoted by MIRROR

Fleetwood said he felt really upset after messing up on the 16th hole and losing a shot. It was a tough moment for him.

To explain it; Fleetwood shared that every time you play golf, you learn something. Even when you're close to winning, there are always lessons to take away.  When you have the most difficult moments, it is exactly a great opportunity to learn something.

Despite feeling frustrated, he mentioned that he would have been even more upset if he let that mistake bother him in the last two holes. His point was that in golf, you never know what might happen, so it's important not to let mistakes get in the way of doing your best until the end. This is a mentality that many others should have. It's impressive how mature Fleetwood thinks.

Fleetwood explained his thoughts during the winning putt by expressing confidence in his ability to make it. He mentioned that as he looked at the putt, he felt a strong belief that he would be successful. Confidence is the key. Then when the golfer has no confidence, it is very difficult to succeed.

Additionally, he recalled an experience playing with Rory McIlroy in Scotland and remembered a similar successful putt McIlroy made at last year's Scottish Open. This memory created a sense of familiarity and positivity for Fleetwood, leading him to believe that the current situation might be his opportunity to succeed.
