Adrian Meronk, initially excluded from the Europe team at the Ryder Cup in Rome, has achieved well-deserved recognition as the best player of the DP World Tour 2023. This Pole has had an extraordinary season, with three victories and fourth place in the Race to Dubai.

Meronk was honored with the prestigious 'Seve Ballesteros Award' by his peers, beating world number 2 Rory McIlroy with 38% of the vote, as well as Denmark's Nicolai Hojgaard and Norway's Viktor Hovland, ranked fourth in the world rankings.

Despite being left out by European captain Luke Donald for the Ryder Cup, Adrian Meronk has now received the 'Seve Ballesteros Award' directly from one of Ballesteros' sons, Javier. This significant recognition was presented on the eve of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, the first event of the 2024 Rolex Series, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates from 18 to 21 January.

Meronk, excited and surprised, commented: "This recognition represents a great emotion for me. It's fantastic, I'm shocked, I really didn't expect it. I'm grateful to everyone for an award that bears the name and surname of a legend of golf." The Rules of Golf are a set of standard rules and procedures by which the sport of golf should be played.

They are jointly written and administered by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the governing body of golf throughout the world, outside of the United States and Mexico, which are the jurisdiction of the United States Golf Association.

An expert commission made up of members of the R&A and USGA oversees and refines the rules every four years. The latest revision is effective January 1, 2016. Changes to the rules of golf generally fall into two main categories: those that improve understanding and those that in certain cases reduce penalties to ensure balance.

The rule book, entitled "Rules of Golf", is published on a regular basis and also includes rules governing amateur status. In Italy it is up to Federgolf to supervise the competitions by enforcing the rules issued by the R & A, checking that these rules are observed by the Clubs, Associations and their members and managing the resulting sporting justice, protecting their interests abroad.
