Francesca Fiorellini dominated the National Women's Match Play Championship/Trofeo Giuseppe Silva held at Golf Nazionale (par 72) in Sutri (VT). The highly decorated Italian golfer defeated Ginevra Coppa in the final with a score of 3&2, securing her third title in this event after victories in the previous year and in 2021.

Her success began from the outset with a first-place finish in the 36-hole stroke play qualifying round (142 – 71 71, -2 strokes, the only player to go under par), and she continued to display her remarkable skills in the match play rounds.

In her journey to the final, Fiorellini defeated Martina Saitta (5&4), Carolina Caminoli (3&2), Emma Lucrezia Manzini (6&5), and Federica Rossi (3&1), who had previously ousted Matilde Partele in the quarterfinals in the 21st hole, the third extra hole.

Ginevra Coppa, ranked 26th in qualifying with 160 (80 80, +16), defeated Giorgia Scortichini (3&1), Paris Appendino (5&4), Sofia Facchinetti (2 up), and Giulietta Bertero (3&2), who had eliminated Maddalena Bottacini in the quarterfinals, ranked 19th.

In the qualifying round, Fiorellini led ahead of Anita Marone (146, +2), Noa Zocco (147, +3), Guia Vittoria Acutis (148, +4), and Matilde Partele (149, +5) on the leaderboard. Francesca Fiorellini, an 18-year-old from Rome representing Olgiata Golf Club, has long been a member of the Italian national team and boasts numerous victories, including international titles such as the Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship (2022), the Annika Invitational Europe (2022), the Internationaux de France U21/Esmond Trophy (2021), the Girls Under 16 Open Championship (2019), and the English Girls U14 Open Amateur Championship (2018).

Additionally, in 2021, she played a pivotal role in Europe's triumph in the PING Junior Solheim Cup and the Continental Europe team in the Junior Vagliano Trophy. In 2023, she claimed victory in the Internazionali d'Italia, with Team Europe in the Patsy Hankins Trophy against the Asian Pacific team, and was one of the standout performers in the victorious Team Europe in the Junior Solheim Cup and Junior Ryder Cup (where Giovanni Binaghi was also on the team).

On the national stage, she has won titles at the National Women's Medal Championship/Trofeo Isa Goldschmid (2022), the National Girls Championship/Trofeo Marazza (2021-2022), the National Women's Championship/Trofeo Giuseppe Silva (2021, 2023, and 2024), and the Tricolore Baby (2017).
