Jon Rahm impressed many with his performance at last year's Masters. The Spaniard emerged victorious in strong competition, wearing the Green Jacket. This 29-year-old golfer intends to repeat the same success this year. What will be interesting is the reception Rahm will receive.

Considering he left the PGA Tour a few months ago to join LIV Golf, the Spaniard may not be particularly popular among his colleagues. However, these are just assumptions, given the treatment others have had after leaving the PGA Tour.

During one of the press conferences, Rahm spoke about whether LIV Golf and the PGA Tour can coexist, especially considering the increasing talk of a merger and final deal.

“I think there's a way of co-existing. I don’t know what it looks like, but I just want to be able to see the best in the world compete against each other."- Jon Rahm said, as quoted by golfmonthly.com!

Although the focus is often on negative events in the golf scene, Rahm expects that the future will bring changes. The Spaniard is optimistic, aware that a merger would bring many positive things not only to the Tours but also to golf as a sport. Jon is someone who has always focused on positive aspects since the first day of his career, so this time he also looks positively towards the future.

"I think there’s room for the game of golf to get to the next level. Right now, it might not be the friendliest group but, if there’s some type of peace achieved, I think it can actually push the game forward.”- he continued.

Repeating the same success from last year will be a difficult mission. Jon Rahm points out that he plays great golf, but the Masters is a tournament that requires maximum focus and your game must be at a much higher level. He is happy to play with the best golfers again and hang out with his friends. The 29-year-old golfer can certainly make a success of this tournament.

Since the creation of LIV Golf, those who have left the PGA Tour haven't encountered positive reactions. However, over the years, things are rapidly changing. It's noticeable that some PGA Tour golfers now view LIV Golf differently and seem to have a more positive opinion than they did on the first day. Jon Rahm still doesn't know what reception he will receive at the Masters. For him, the most important thing is that he is a person who respects everyone around him.

“I’m assuming there will be quite a few that are not happy, but from my side nothing changes. I still respect everybody on both sides and respect the game of golf above all.”- Jon Rahm concluded.

Rahm has played four LIV tournaments so far, so it can be said that he had a good start. However, expectations from the Spaniard are much higher at the moment. The most important thing for Rahm is that he is satisfied with his game, aware that it is important to transfer such momentum from tournament to tournament. His qualities are unquestionable, but the Masters is a special tournament, which will require the same commitment as last year.

Jon Rahm is optimistic

Jon Rahm expressed confidence in his current form, stressing that while he hasn't reached his peak performance, he sees steady improvement in each tournament, leading up to the Masters. He anticipates an exciting Sunday showdown on the back nine with top players, recognizing it as something both the sport of golf and fans deserve.

Rahm shared his hope for a comfortable lead in the final holes, allowing him to confidently finish the round, yet he also finds the prospect of a close finish and making a winning birdie on the 18th hole to be thrilling and memorable.

Looking at the odds at the bookmakers, Jon Rahm is the top favorite to win this tournament. His outstanding performance from last year is the reason why many believe Rahm can repeat the same success. Following him, as expected, is Scottie Scheffler, who is currently in great form. In third place is the person who will receive the most attention, primarily because the Masters is the major title he lacks: Rory McIlroy. The Northern Irishman wants to break his negative streak and finally meet everyone's expectations. It will be interesting to see if Rory can indeed achieve this feat.

Several other notable names in this tournament could surprise, such as Jordan Spieth, Viktor Hovland, Brooks Koepka, Cameron Smith, Patrick Cantlay, and others. In the end, only one will succeed in wearing the Green Jacket!
