Cold and increasingly strong winds (thirty kilometers per hour with gusts up to fifty) characterized the second and final qualifying day of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Today, the Champions Retreat course featured lightning-fast greens, but it was especially challenging to choose the right club.

Francesca Fiorellini finishes the first phase of the tournament in 17th place with 145 strokes (67-78, 1 over par) and achieves the goal of the trip, to play on Saturday at Augusta National. Today she lost six strokes, the last one with a ball that circled the hole on the eighteenth.

Only five scores were under par in this second round, which sets the cut at +3 for the thirty players tied, who will advance to the final at Augusta National on Saturday: there will be a total of 35 players within eight strokes, and much can happen.

Comment first Leading at the moment is Lottie Woad, ranked fourth in the world, playing the tournament for the second time. English, accustomed to playing in the wind "but rarely as challenging as today," she said.

She started with a double bogey and other errors early on, but in the back nine, she made three birdies for a 71-day score and -5 overall. "I managed to stay calm and patient, that was the key to my game today," said the twenty-year-old who studies at Florida State University.

"Now I need to fine-tune approaches and putts, crucial shots at Augusta, to aim for victory." In the meantime, tomorrow all the girls will have the honor of playing on the field of dreams, and for those who have qualified, it will be a careful test to take valuable notes.

And they will all do so thanks to the advice of a local caddie. Eldrick Tont Woods, better known as Tiger Woods (Cypress, December 30, 1975), is an American golfer. Considered by many to be the greatest golfer of all time,[ as well as the best of the modern era, in his multi-decade career, he has won 110 professional tournaments, including 15 majors, making him the most decorated player in history.

He held the top spot in the OWG world ranking for a total of 683 weeks, including 281 consecutive weeks (from June 12, 2005, to October 30, 2010), and is the only golfer to have won all four modern-era major tournaments within a single year (between 2000 and 2001).
