The winning team doesn't change. Following Edoardo Molinari, Luke Donald has chosen Thomas Bjorn as the second vice-captain of Team Europe for the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage in New York. Once again, this is a reaffirmation.

Thomas Bjorn, Ryder Cup

The Dane, alongside the Turin-born Edoardo Molinari, was among the five assistants to Englishman Donald at the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome.

Now, Donald has decided to embark on the challenge against the USA, scheduled for September 26th to 28th next year, with two certainties. Furthermore, the 53-year-old from Silkeborg, Bjorn, led Europe to victory in Paris in 2018.

For the sixth time in his career, Bjorn will serve as one of the European vice-captains in the Ryder Cup. Thomas Bjørn, born on February 18, 1971, in Silkeborg, Denmark, is a prominent figure in professional golf. His journey in the sport began at a young age, and he turned professional in 1993.

Bjørn quickly rose through the ranks, earning multiple victories on the European Tour, including the prestigious BMW PGA Championship in 1996 and 2002. Bjørn's talent and consistency earned him a place on the European Ryder Cup team multiple times, where he showcased his skill in the prestigious competition against the United States.

In 2018, he had the honor of captaining the European team to victory in the Ryder Cup held in Paris, solidifying his legacy in the sport. Off the course, Bjørn is known for his dedication to growing the game of golf, both in Denmark and globally.

He has been involved in various charitable initiatives and serves as an ambassador for the sport. Throughout his career, Bjørn has faced challenges and setbacks but has always demonstrated resilience and determination.

His contributions to European golf and his impact on the Ryder Cup have earned him a revered place in the history of the sport. The Ryder Cup is a prestigious golf tournament held every two years and pits two teams against each other: one representing the United States of America and the other Europe.

The competition is named after Samuel Ryder, an English businessman who donated the trophy in 1927. The Ryder Cup is characterized by a particular format, which includes a series of singles, doubles and fourball matches. The competition takes place over three days and involves some of the best golfers in the world.
