Justin Thomas, in addition to loving and enjoying golf, is also someone who follows soccer for several reasons. One of the primary reasons is that Thomas is a minority shareholder in Leeds United, a club currently competing in the playoffs for promotion to the Premier League.

Although he will be playing in the PGA Championship this week, Justin Thomas intends to watch the second leg between Leeds United and Norwich United, which will be held at Elland Road (Leeds' stadium). The first leg ended in a 0-0 draw, so Leeds has an excellent chance of reaching the playoff final for promotion to the Premier League. Thomas expressed his happiness at having the opportunity to watch the match and is excited about it.

“I'm very excited about my morning tee time on Thursday. That has worked out nicely for that 3 o'clock game (8pm kickoff in the UK). Right now I like the fact that they're playing at Elland Road. I know that they're a tough team to beat there, so I'm excited to watch.”- Justin Thomas said, as quoted by MIRROR.

Leeds United proved to be a quality club in the Premier League in recent years until they were relegated last season. Leeds had been playing in the top tier of English football for three years, with particular emphasis on their impressive first season after promotion. Now they have the opportunity to immediately return to the top flight after relegation.

Thomas has admitted that through his intermediaries, he intends to learn more about this English club, hoping for a promising future ahead. Justin Thomas clearly has a growing interest in Leeds United as well as football in general.

“My advice is very different than probably anything that would be useful or helpful to them, but I know I've really, really enjoyed learning a lot more about the sport. Between Billy Foster (Matt Fitzpatrick’s Leeds-supporting caddie) Jordan and I, we've definitely become a lot closer over the last year, and he's given us a lot of insight and knowledge of Leeds and whatnot and sending us videos from games."- Thomas continued.

The 31-year-old American hasn't particularly impressed in the last few Majors, but he hopes that this time the situation might be different. Thomas emphasized that it's a special thing to be part of such a tournament, considering that the PGA Championship is one of the biggest golf events. He recalled his childhood and the opportunity he had to watch this Major when he was a boy, admiring Tiger Woods.

Thomas emphasized that his memories are not so clear, considering he was only seven years old at the time. What he remembers is being inspired by the qualities of the golfers who competed there and the atmosphere that prevailed. These were probably the moments when he realized that golf was the sport he wanted to play and that he himself wanted to compete in major tournaments.

Justin Thomas reflected on the fans from Louisville, believing that fans from this city have an immense passion for sports. He hopes that they will once again create a fantastic atmosphere this time around.

"The Kentucky Louisville sports fans are, they're sports fans and we don't get golf tournaments really ever, let alone major championships, and when it comes here I think you see that with some other Midwest venues, that they love it."- he said.

Justin Thomas on childhood memories

During a past tournament, Thomas vividly recalls the great energy coming from the crowd. The roars of excitement echoed throughout the course, creating an amazing atmosphere. Even as a young child, experiencing these moments firsthand left a lasting impression on him. Witnessing the fierce competition between Tiger Woods and Bob May ignited his passion for the sport, firming his desire to pursue golf as a career path.

Justin Thomas, speaking about the pressure of playing in such important tournaments, had an interesting reaction. The 31-year-old isn't particularly concerned about it, considering he has faced plenty of pressure earlier in his career and knows how to handle it.

Thomas is one of those golfers who knows how to deal with pressure and expects it to be the same this time around.

Expectations for him in this tournament are immense, especially since he had the opportunity to win the PGA Championship two years ago. Although it's a challenging task, we'll see if Thomas can pull off the same feat this time.

Let's be honest, Thomas isn't one of the main favorites to win the PGA Championship, especially with Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Brooks Koepka in the mix. However, a golfer of his caliber should never be underestimated, aware that he can surprise at any moment.
