Spanish golfer Jon Rahm expressed his anticipation ahead of his participation in the upcoming Spanish leg of the LIV Golf, set to take place at the renowned Real Club Valderrama in July. Rahm remarked that it is always special for him to return to this course, where he will be making his debut in this competition.

"It's a golf course with a lot of history, Spanish history, and I'm happy to return with the level of competition it deserves," Rahm stated in comments released by the organization. The LIV Golf Andalucía 2024 will host the world's top golfers to compete at the iconic Valderrama course in the municipality of San Roque (Cádiz) from July 12th to 14th, marking the tenth event of the season for this global circuit and the first in continental Europe this year.

The golfer from Biscay, a two-time Major winner, reminisced about watching the Volvo Masters "many years ago," where the "best" players in Europe competed. "It was an incredible event. Then came a second stage that perhaps relegated it to a secondary role and it was not as popular as it should have been for the quality of the golf course and its iconic status," Rahm emphasized.

He praised the team format of LIV Golf, which he believes "helps the sport in general." "It's much easier to support a team than an individual, to be part of something, to follow it," remarked the Barrika native, noting that LIV Golf brings a "new air" to the sport.

The debut of LIV at Valderrama in 2023 drew thousands of fans to this San Roque course, where American Talor Gooch secured his third individual victory of the season. In July, the tournament will bring together fourteen Major winners, including Spanish golfers Rahm and Sergio García, alongside top players such as Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Cameron Smith, Patrick Reed, Henrik Stenson, Bubba Watson, Louis Oosthuizen, Graeme McDowell, Martin Kaymer, and Charl Schwartzel.
