Here's another unconventional journey that only golf can offer us. Who knows Jordan Weber? Until this week, hardly anyone. Yet, this native of Iowa, aged 38, is competing in the European Open this Thursday, the second stage of the European Swing on the DP World Tour 2024.

Winner of the NEXT Golf Tour Powered by Trackman Order of Merit, or if you prefer, the simulator golf tour, the American finds himself in Germany, in Hamburg, to take on the formidable Green Eagle, one of the most demanding courses of the season.

The DP World Tour has entered into an agreement with this professional simulator Trackman circuit (for men and women), and the best among them has been granted a gateway to participate in some events on the European Tour and the Challenge Tour.

"It's still hard for me to believe what's happening to me, but I'm so proud. It has changed my life!" Jordan Weber It's a nearly improbable story for this player who turned professional in 2008 but hung up his clubs for over ten years after a few wins on US satellite tours and mainly because he fell victim to the yips, which took a toll on his confidence.

Employed as an analyst at Wells Fargo in 2012, he seemed to have found some balance before the golf bug bit him again, especially after starting a business with his brother-in-law... golf simulators. "Slowly, over the following years, the desire returned, it was itching at me," he emphasized on the official DP World Tour website.

"The NEXT Golf Tour gave me the opportunity to compete again at a high level. The rest is history. It's still hard for me to believe what's happening to me, but I'm so proud. It has changed my life!" In addition to the European Tour this week in Germany, he will also be seen on the European second division at the Farmfoods Scottish Challenge (August 8-11), the Vierumaki Finnish Challenge (August 15-18), and the Indoor Golf Group Challenge in Sweden from August 22-25.
