Miles Russell is a name to watch out for. The 15-year-old American, born in Jacksonville Beach, Florida (USA), will make his debut on the PGA Tour at the Rocket Mortgage Classic at the end of this month. The promising talent finished in the top 20 at the LECOM Suncoast Classic of the Korn Ferry Tour, becoming the youngest player to finish in the top 25 in an event on either the PGA or Korn Ferry Tours, the top two divisions of American professional golf.

Now, he faces a great opportunity having been invited to play with the pros at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, from June 27 to 30 at the Detroit Golf Club.

"The Rocket Mortgage Classic is known as a tournament where future stars begin, and we are thrilled to have Miles make his PGA Tour debut here and join that legacy," explained tournament executive director Jason Langewell in a statement.

"He has shown with his many achievements at such a young age that he belongs, and we are excited to see Miles compete alongside the world's best golfers here at the Detroit Golf Club," Langewell concluded. Russell is the Player of the Year of the American Junior Golf Association, in addition to winning the Junior Players Championship and the PGA Junior Championship.

Now, he is presented with the opportunity to play golf at its highest level, thanks to having received one of the four sponsor exemptions for a tournament where the defending champion is his fellow countryman Rickie Fowler.

"Since I started playing golf, my dream has been to compete on the PGA Tour and test my game against the best players, and I look forward to making the most of the experience later this month," exclaimed the excited American.

In this way, Russell will become one of the youngest players in PGA Tour history. The record is held by Michelle Wie West, another case of early success, who generated so much hype in her early years that despite being a woman, she debuted on the men's circuit at 14 years, three months, and four days old, at the 2004 Sony Open.

Guan Tianlang is the youngest player to make the cut in a PGA co-sanctioned event. He did so at 14 years and five months at the 2013 Masters. Youth is making a strong impact.
