Carlos Ortiz secured his first career victory in the Arabian Super League of Golf at the LIV Golf Houston event in the United States. The Mexican finished with a score of "-15" strokes, claiming his maiden title in the Arabian Super League.

In the individual competition, he edged out Polish player Adrian Meronk, who finished second with "-14", while American Patrick Reed and Spaniard David Puig tied for third with "-13". The 33-year-old from Guadalajara celebrated his achievement in Houston, where he had previously triumphed on the PGA Tour at the Houston Open in November 2020.

Texas seems to hold a special place in Ortiz's destiny. He earned $4,000,000 out of a total individual prize pool of $20,000,000.

Meanwhile, the team event was won by the team led by German Martin Kaymer, with Richard Bland, Adrian Meronk, and Kalle Samooja, who clinched victory with a score of "-33".

On the other hand, Jon Rahm continues to struggle. The Spanish golfer, one of the highest-paid athletes in the world and former world number one, was forced to retire during the second round in Houston after playing six holes due to physical issues.
