His latest comeback is to a major tournament. Starting from Thursday, Matteo will compete in the US Open, his last appearance dating back to 2016. Eight years later, he finds himself back where he belongs, among the golf VIPs.

Matteo Manassero, statements

"Throughout all these years, I always hoped for it. But I knew how complicated it was, how high the level was. So being here has a very sweet taste. I can't wait for Thursday because playing in the majors is just...

awesome!". Matteo Manassero is an Italian professional golfer born on April 19, 1993, in Negrar, Italy. He gained widespread recognition at a young age for his remarkable talent and achievements in the sport. Manassero burst onto the international golf scene as a teenager, becoming the youngest ever winner of the British Amateur Championship in 2009 at the age of 16.

This victory earned him invitations to prestigious professional tournaments, and in 2010, he turned professional at the age of 17. In his early professional career, Manassero continued to impress, winning his first European Tour title at the 2010 Castelló Masters, making him the youngest winner in European Tour history at the time.

He went on to win three more European Tour events, showcasing his skill and potential as a top-level golfer. Despite early success, Manassero faced challenges and a dip in form, leading to struggles on the course and a temporary drop in world rankings.

However, he has shown resilience and determination to regain his form and competitiveness. In recent years, Manassero has worked his way back up through various tours, including the Alps Tour and the Challenge Tour, earning victories and reclaiming his status as a formidable competitor.

His return to success culminated in a victory on the DP World Tour, ending a drought since his last win in 2013. Manassero's journey in golf reflects his talent, perseverance, and passion for the sport. As he continues to compete on the international stage, he remains a prominent figure in Italian golf and a source of inspiration for aspiring young golfers.
