For golf enthusiasts, the tee times promise excitement, as they will see Scottie Scheffler, the world number 1 and already winner of five tournaments this season (including The Masters), paired with Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele, second and third respectively in the world ranking.

Tiger Woods will face Matt Fitzpatrick and Will Zalatoris. The US Open is one of the four major championships in professional golf, along with The Masters, The Open Championship (often referred to as the British Open), and the PGA Championship.

It is organized by the United States Golf Association (USGA) and is considered one of the most prestigious tournaments in the sport. The US Open is held annually in June, typically on a variety of courses throughout the United States.

The tournament features a field of top professional golfers from around the world, as well as a select number of amateurs who qualify through various regional and sectional tournaments. The format of the US Open is stroke play, with players competing over four rounds of 18 holes each.

The player with the lowest total score at the end of the tournament is crowned the champion. In the event of a tie after 72 holes, a playoff is held to determine the winner. The US Open is known for its challenging course setups, which often feature narrow fairways, thick rough, and fast greens.

This, combined with the pressure of competing in a major championship, makes the US Open one of the toughest tests in golf. The tournament has produced many memorable moments and iconic champions throughout its history, including Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tiger Woods, and more recently, Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau.

Winning the US Open is considered a career-defining achievement for any golfer and cements their place in golfing history.
