Bryson DeChambeau is pleased with his performance at the LIV Golf Nashville, especially since he finished the first day with a four-under 67, three strokes behind the leader, Abraham Ancer. This amazing golfer managed to win the US Open, and after such a challenge, it's surely difficult to focus on what comes next.

Bryson will need to quickly set aside his victory at the US Open and be fully present in the moment. Of course, that's not easy, given that winning a Major is a huge achievement.

DeChambeau admitted after the first round that he feels a lack of energy following recent events. However, he is grateful for the crowd's support, which has given him a boost of energy. He is delighted with such support, which gives him additional motive.

“I'm a bit of a zombie right now. Luckily the crowd has given me a lot of energy. Very gracious to have that happen, and man, they're just pushing me forward. I can't thank them enough. It's so cool to see the support out there.”- Bryson DeChambeau said, as quoted by Golf Monthly.

Bryson DeChambeau: I know my game is in a really good spot

The 30-year-old had doubts about how things would look afterward, but he feels great about his game. Many aspects of his play are consistent with what we're used to seeing from him, and he wants to capitalize on this momentum, aiming to lift another trophy, albeit one that doesn't carry the same importance as the US Open. Despite some issues he's not happy with, he intends to make the upcoming days successful.

“I didn't know how well I'd do today, but I know my game is in a really good spot. I'm putting well, hitting my irons really well, driving it solid, and yeah, I gave myself a lot of good chances today, and albeit I didn't finish off the way I wanted to, it is what it is. I've got a great opportunity these next few days, and that's what I'm excited about.”- DeChambeau continued.

Bryson DeChambeau talked about the moments when he struggled to maintain concentration over putts amid quiet surroundings. He described how his head started to move slightly and how he encouraged himself to stay focused, realizing the need to engage with the supportive crowd around him. Although it is not easy to have that winning mindset immediately after such success, the crowd was the one that pushed him forward.

Despite the ups and downs of the tournament, Bryson emphasized that he wouldn't exchange the experience for anything else, describing it as the greatest time of his career.

The 30-year-old impressed the golfing public after a tense final round where he managed to defeat the more experienced Rory McIlroy, with a hint of luck. The two had a fierce encounter, and a strong desire was noticeable from both sides. Rory McIlroy aimed to lift a Major trophy after ten years, while Bryson was motivated from various angles, including showing the quality of LIV Golf. DeChambeau had words of praise for McIlroy after the tournament, considering him a spectacular golfer with a rich CV.

Bryson DeChambeau on his winning bunker shot

After the US Open, DeChambeau had an interesting interview where he emphasized the importance of his winning bunker shot, a moment that will certainly be talked about for years to come. Bryson made a brilliant move when it mattered most, impressing everyone present. On the other hand, his opponent Rory McIlroy made huge mistakes at crucial moments. During the interview, Bryson reflected on the bunker shot, stressing the massive support he received.

“As much as I am a very mechanical, methodical person, there is an artistry to me that not too many people know but I hope they are starting to see. And that 60-yard bunker shot, whatever it was, when I got up there, the one thing that gave me a lot of comfort was G-Bo telling me, Bryson, I’ve seen you hit way more difficult shots than this. You’ve got this. I stepped in there and executed it.“-DeChambeau said.

We will see if DeChambeau can lift another major trophy in the coming period.

There are many quality golfers at LIV Golf who will want to take advantage of the momentum and win this tournament. The competition is fierce, and there is no doubt that the leaders of LIV Golf plan to hire some of the big names in the coming period. Recently, there has been peace on the golf scene, with no rumors of any scandals. This could suggest a final agreement between the PGA Tour and PIF. We will see.
