Open but not only. In his words also a memory of the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome and a thought of the 2025 one in New York where the Turin native will still hold the role of vice-captain of the Europe team.

"I have very fond memories of the Ryder in Rome. With captain Luke Donald - added Molinari - and the rest of the staff we tried to take care of every single detail. We have already started working for the 2025 Ryder Cup and I can't wait to experience another exciting week.

Edoardo Molinari had a brilliant amateur career, winning several national championships. In 2005 he became the first Italian and the first European golfer to win the US Amateur championship. As a result of that victory he qualified to play in the 2006 US Masters, US Open and British Open.

[Citation needed] His younger brother Francesco is also a professional golfer. He became a professional in 2006 after graduating from the Polytechnic of Turin in engineering. In 2007 he won the Masters Club Colombia and the Kenya Open.

He won his third professional title at the Piemonte Open in May 2009, held in Turin. He also won the Kazakhstan Open in September and the Italian Federation Cup in October.[citation needed] At the end of the 2009 season he ranked first in the order of merit of the Challenge Tour and obtained the card to participate in the 2010 tournaments European Tour.[1] On November 29, 2009, Molinari, together with his younger brother Francesco, brought to Italy the World Cup won at the Omega Mission Hills World Cup in China.

On 11 July 2010 he won the Scottish Open on the Loch Lomond course ahead of the Northern Irishman Darren Clarke and the Frenchman Raphaël Jaquelin[2]. On August 29, 2010 he won the Johnny Walker Championship ahead of Brett Rumford and his brother Francesco.

From 1 to 4 October 2010 he was part of the European Ryder Cup team that won the 2010 Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor in Wales. On 16 April 2017, after 7 years without a victory on the European Tour, he won the Hassan II Golf Trophy beating the Irishman Paul Dunne in the Play-off.
