Scottie Scheffler is dominating this year. Net of his six victories this season, it is also and above all the other (amazing) numbers that tell us about his greatness, equal to, if not better than, that of Tiger Woods in 2000, starting from the six triumphs; in the last 40 years, only three other players have managed to achieve as many in a single season (and in the meantime Scheffler still has six months to go - Editor's note): Tiger, obviously, and then Nick Price and Vijay Singh.

And then, let's talk about the Signature Events of this year's PGA Tour: the first three (Sentry, Pebble Beach and Genesis) were won by Kirk, Clark and Matsuyama, but after the change of putter, Scheffler dominated the scene, triumphing in Bay Hill at TPC, at Heritage, at Memorial and on Sunday also at Travelers.

At this juncture, only Rory managed to take home a Signature, the Wells Fargo, but perhaps only because Scottie had stayed home in those days. But perhaps, of all the statistics for this 2024 of the world number 1, this is the one that makes the wrists tremble the most and it also concerns Tiger Woods of 2000.

So: both, in their respective seasons in their first 15 tournaments, achieved 6 victories, but Scheffler also boasts 13 top 10s against the Phenomenon's 12, as well as 40 scores in 60 shots against Tiger's 32 and, above all, the Texan has an average score of 68.4 shots compared to Woods' 68.7.

Scheffler was born in the municipality of Ridgewood, in the state of New Jersey, on June 21, 1996 into a wealthy family, the son of Scott and Diane Scheffler. He became passionate about the world of golf as a child, playing at the city's Highland Park.

At the age of seven he moved with his family to Dallas. Scheffler is married to Meredith Scheffler: the two met in high school and married in 2020. Scheffler is Christian. His sponsor for his confirmation in the Catholic Church was Rocky Hambric, founder of Hambric Sports, a sports management agency that has had Scheffler as a client since he turned professional.

Scheffler and his good friend Sam Burns host an annual retreat with members of the College Golf Fellowship, a faith-based ministry.
