Tiger Woods and golf-loving singer Justin Timberlake opened a T-Squared Social in midtown Manhattan last September, but their desire to export their idea to the birthplace of golf in St Andrews was met with opposition from locals .

Last October, a petition against the new sports bar even collected more than 10,000 signatures.

The two shareholders of Nexus Luxury Collection, Woods and Timberlake, had no choice but to opt for legal conciliation to obtain authorization.

The “locals” feared seeing the project of the two superstars distort the New Picture House located a few dozen meters from the Old Course in the heart of St Andrews. This cinema, emblematic of the Scottish town since 1930, has seen its occupancy rate drop below 10%, say the defenders of the sports bar project.

The proposed plan, which has been supported by the current owners, will create 40 to 45 jobs and it has been planned that a cinema hall will be retained. Justin Randall Timberlake (Memphis, January 31, 1981) is an American singer-songwriter, dancer, actor and record producer.

He began his career by participating in the talent show Star Search and shortly afterwards in the children's program Mickey Mouse Club, with some of his colleagues such as Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. However, he achieved fame as a member of the boyband NSYNC in the late nineties, an experience that ended in 2002 when the band broke up.

The same year, Timberlake released his first solo album, Justified, which won him 2 Grammy Awards. Justin Timberlake, the only child of Randall Timberlake and Lynn Bomar[4], was born on January 31, 1981 in Memphis, Tennessee, but grew up in Shelby Forest (a small community located between Memphis and Millington).

His parents divorced when he was 2 years old. He has two half-brothers, Jonathan and Steven Robert, sons of Randall and his second wife Lisa. He also had a half-sister, Lura Katherine, who died shortly after his birth. His first appearance was on the TV show Star Search at the age of 11.

He introduced himself with his double name, Justin Randall, and performed some country songs. In 1993 he joined the cast of the Mickey Mouse Club together with some future stars: Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, JC Chasez and Ryan Gosling. The program closed in 1994. The following year Timberlake and Chasez met again and decided to form a boyband.
