Dustin Johnson: "New putter and it felt good"

Dustin Johnson after a final-round 66 at the RBC Heritage on Sunday is optimistic.

Dustin Johnson, statements

"Yeah, I put a new putter in today, and yeah, it felt good. It would have made a few more I feel like, just a little more speed.

The first day using it. I just got it in yesterday, so rolled a few on the putting green. I really like it. It's got a different shaft in it and a different head, but rolled good, so we're going to keep it up. I feel like I haven't putted really well for the last few weeks, so that's kind of really why (I switched).

I've just been struggling with my putter. I kept with it, kept practicing, kept grinding, but it wasn't really getting any better, so sometimes it's just time for a change" In Hilton Head, South Carolina, Stewart Cink with a total of 265 (63 63 69 70, -19) shots dominates RBC Heritage and celebrates his eighth career title on the PGA Tour.

Second place (269, -15) for Harold Varner III (for the American it is the best result of his career on the circuit) and the Argentine Emiliano Grillo. He closes 7 / o (272, -12) Collin Morikawa. Top 10 and 9 / a square (273, -11) for Webb Simpson, defending champion.

Nice finish by Dustin Johnson, from 36 / o to 13 / o with 274 (-10). Twenty-one years and two days after the first time and 16 years, 11 months and 30 days after the second time, Cink returns to win the RBC Heritage. It is the third success in the event for the American who becomes the third most successful player in the competition, equaling Hale Irwin and approaching Davis Love III (five times to score in the review).

"What made this stand out? The fact that it happened at my age. I was able to really kind of change my game into a little bit more of a power game. My son? He and I have always just been on the same wavelength. We're kind of from the same DNA, and I mean literally like we are the same person.

We think about things – we think about jokes, we notice the same funny stuff, we just pick up on the same kind of little details about things in our immediate surroundings. The traveling and living in a circus out here like I've done for my whole adult life is made tolerable by being a player. If you're playing, you're kind of the top level of the wedding cake out here"
