The former Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanovic, in an interview released at the beginning of 2021 to Sport Klub, spoke of the Roland Garros 2008, but also of the difficulties faced when she had to leave her country. She said"I started playing tennis when I was five.

I saw Monica Seles on television and my dad gave me a little tennis racket for my birthday. That's how I started playing tennis. It was love at first sight. It was amazing how much I was interested in this sport, as no one in my family followed tennis.

My father played basketball, my uncle played soccer, but no one played tennis. He caught my attention and from the first moment I knew that tennis and I were meant to be together. Leaving Serbia to go to Switzerland? It was a very complicated decision.

I traveled alone because we couldn't afford to travel with the whole family. Later, my mother joined my travels and helped me a lot. The family suffered a lot due to my departure, but I think everyone understood the decision and supported me from the first moment.

The situation in Serbia at the time was not good and so I decided to leave. As a child I was always very introverted and didn't usually interact much with people. Tennis was my world and I enjoyed myself and wasn't afraid to take that step."

On the toughest opponent she faced, Ana said: "One of the toughest was Karolina Pliskova. It is very difficult to read her play style and to be able to adapt to her.

I also remember Patty Schnyder a lot, especially the games we played. My win at the Roland Garros 2008? It is an event that I will remember for a lifetime. Clay was the surface that best suited my style of play especially when it came to applying and determining tactics.

That's why I've always liked the land. That Roland Garros was very special to me. I remember that a year before I could also play the final against Justin Henin and despite the defeat, a year later I felt like the reigning champion.

I'll never forget that final against Safina and that last point." Meanwhile, on Istagram, she shared some days ago some pics of her workouts in the gym, wearing an outfit with a black top that highlights her beauty:
