WTA world no.1 Aryna Sabalenka recently went to an event in Miami, where she met former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Los Angeles Galaxy soccer legend David Beckham.
Close to the WTA Finals in Cancun, Sabalenka shared the photo in which she met Beckham on Instagram, writing: "Low Key Miami Morning @davidbeckham,"
Beckham responded to the Belarusian tennis player's post, writing: "So lovely to meet you @sabalenka_aryna."
Corretja comments on Aryna Sabalenka's difficulties
Former tennis player Alex Corretja gave an interview to Eurosport and spoke in particular about the duopoly at the top featuring Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka.
Speaking about the two, Corretja said: "Iga Swiatek is a real fighter, it doesn't matter whether she is number one or number two in the world. She always wants to improve, try new things and has a playing style that is open to change. I believe that she will be one of the protagonists not only of this season finale or end of year but of the next ten years."
Corretja then spoke about Aryna Sabalenka: "I think it's normal to have a bit of relief and experience a moment of stalemate where she became number one. You spend a long time dreaming, thinking and working exclusively to become number one and once you have become number one you try to understand what is happening.
It's obvious then that expectations change and you try to understand what's happening. The important thing is to have continuity throughout the year, and you have to understand that in this sport you lose 85% of the time in a year, maybe you win four tournaments and your year will still be incredible."
We recall the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka has overtaken Iga Swiatek in the rankings and has become the new number one in the world.
