2013 - 3 matches on Challenger Tour and first Futures final at Germany F19 event, finishing the season in the Top 900

2014 - First Challenger win in Braunschweig and 4 losses in Futures finals, enough to finish in the Top 500

2015 - An ATP debut in Stuttgart and a semi-final run in Kenitra Challenger. 4 Futures finals and 4 titles, closing the season ranked 264th

2016 - Maximilian cracked the Top 200 for the first time, qualifying for ATP 250 event in Sydney at the start of the season and posting some solid results in Challengers. He lost in the final in Meerbusch but won back-to-back titles in Meknes and Kenitra, dropping just 2 sets in 10 matches

2017 - German had to dig deep to earn the place in the ATP main draws but it paid off, passing qualifications 7 times and also receiving 3 wild cards for a total number of 10 matches on the Tour, including Masters 1000 debut in Cincinnati and a maiden Grand Slam appearance at the US Open, losing to Donald Young in 4 sets. He lost in the Cherbourg Challenger final but conquered Banja Luka in great style, losing just 22 games in total. A few weeks later he lifted another Challenger crown, this time on fast hard court in Monterrey, and another one in Eckental, toppling Jerzy Janowicz in the title match. In addition, he reached another 4 Challenger semi-finals to burst his ranking position and finish inside the Top 100 for the first time
