
Luksika Khumkhum, whose tennis idols are Tamarine Tanasugarn and Monica Seles, likes to play the ukulele to relax away from the courts. She made her debut on ITF Circuit in 2010 in Pattaya, and played her maiden WTA qualifying matches in Kuala Lumpur in 2012. Her main draw debut came later that year in Guangzhou (as qualifier, l. Duan in 1r).
Her best tennis memory is reaching the second round at 2013 Australian Open as a qualifier. In Melbourne, she scored her maiden tour-level win against Arvidsson.
In 2014 she reached her first tour-level semifinal in Osaka (l. Diyas). Afterwards she achieved her career-high ranking of No.85 (October 20, 2014), and posted her only Top 100 year-end finish in 2014, at No.85.
After a couple of disappointing season in 2015 and 2016, she finished 2017 at No.124 after a strong end to the season, winning 10 of last 14 matches. That year, she reached the second career WTA semifinal in Seoul (as qualifier, l. eventual champion Ostapenko). In other tour outings, she made the second-round in Hong Kong (scored second Top 20 win over Vesnina in the first-round, l. Q.Wang). On ITF Circuit, she won the 12th and 13th career titles at this level in Hua Hin and Nonthaburi. Also, she moved to the quarter-finals at WTA 125k Series events in Hua Hin and Taipei.
In 2018, she opened the campaign with her first Grand Slam third-round at Australian Open.
