Player history

Introduced to tennis by mother Edith, and father Bruno who passed away in 2014, played first events of career on ITF Circuit in 2004 and made WTA main draw debut at 2008 Estoril (as qualifier). In 2009 she made her Grand Slam main draw debut at Wimbledon (l. Venus Williams), in 2010 she claimed her maiden major main draw win at Australian Open.

In 2012 she was runner-up in doubles in Bogotá (w/Minella). The next year, her first Top 50 season (finishing No.44), she reached the first Grand Slam third-round at Roland Garros (l. Kirilenko) and her sole Premier-level semifinal in Charleston where she beat Wozniacki in her first Top 10 win. She moved to the last 4 also in Memphis (l. to Erakovic), and back to back in Linz (l. to Ivanovic) and Luxembourg (ret. vs. Beck w/left thigh injury). Thanks to those results, she reached the career-high ranking of No.42 in November 2013.

In 2014, she finished at No.78 as she reached the semifinals in Baku (l. to Jovanovski)and three quarter-finals in Brisbane, Bad Gastein and Linz. Playing the semifinals in  Luxembourg (l. to Barthel)

The semifinal run in Luxembourg (l. to Barthel) was the only highlight of a see-saw 2015 campaign that she ended at No.122.

Voegele finished the 2016 season ranked No.113 after a semifinal run in Istanbul (l. eventual champion Buyukakcay) and quarterfinals efforts in Kaohsiung (ret. vs. Putintseva) and Tashkent (l. Kozlova). She also reached quarter-finals at two WTA 125K Series events in Bol (l. Hibino) and Limoges (l. Cornet). She also won her seventh ITF Circuit singles title of career at $50k event in Andrezieux-Boutheon.

In 2017, after playing in St.Petersburg she missed six months because of a wrist injury. She came back in a WTA main draw in Tashkent where she lost in the quarter-finals (l. to Babos). She moved to the last 8 also in Tianjin (l. to Sharapova).
