Player history

2015 - Two Futures in Spain, one quarter-final

2016 - Alex made a great progress at the age of 17, moving from outside the  Top 1500 to Top 350 at the end of the season, combining professional tournaments with his junior career. He lost two Futures finals in Spain and won 29 matches at that level before qualifying for the main draw of Eckental Challenger where he reached the final, losing in the title match to Steve Darcis

2017 - Another very solid season for the youngster, reaching the main draw in Brisbane and scoring first ATP win in Sydney against Benoit Paire. De Minaur made his Grand Slam debut in Melbourne, saving a match point in a five-setter win over Gerald Melzer to become the first player born in 1999 who won a match at this level. The results were not that good in the following months but he bounced back in July when he won Portugal F11 Futures, followed by a Challenger final in Segovia, losing to another youngster Jaume Munar. Dominic Thiem ousted him in the first round of the US Open and he closed the season with two quarter-finals at indoor Challengers in Eckental and Brescia, losing to Matthias Bachinger and Mirza Basic to end the year just outside the Top 200
