Stefanos Tsitsipas appears to have hired Thomas Enqvist as his new coach

Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas was accompanied by Thomas Enqvist during his Sunday's practice in Rotterdam. Tsistsipas has been working with his father, Apostolos, his entire career. Tsitsipas hasn't made any official announcements but it seems that he has added Enqvist to his coaching staff on at least a temporary basis.

Tsitsipas and Enqvist get to know each other during last year's Laver Cup.

Tsitsipas and Enqvist spent some time together in Boston last year as the Greek represented Team Europe, while the Swede was the vice-captain of the team. Tsitsipas, 23, is set to make his fifth appearance in Rotterdam.

Tsitsipas made the Rotterdam semifinal last year, before losing to Andrey Rublev.

Tsitsipas found himself in an uncomfortable spot

After Daniil Medvedev lost the second set of his Australian Open quarterfinal clash against Tsitsipas, he went on a rant.

Medvedev complained that Tsitsipas was getting coached after every single point by his father. Tsitsipas lost the match in four sets and after the match said he never listens to advice his fathers gives him during matches.

"i'm pretty sure I'm going to keep receiving coaching violations, even though I will never listen to any single thing he says. But it's fine, they can do that if they want, if they believe it's right," Tsitsipas claimed.

"That was also one of the reasons last year I went out publicly on one of my social media platforms and said that I think coaching should be allowed, simply because coaches do it anyways. Most of them get away with it, and they do it pretty smartly, I can tell you.

Not from my dad's side, but I've seen a lot of situations, I've seen a lot of circumstances where the coaches would get away with it, and it's a real thing. "By letting it be a thing, I think there is gping to be less tension and more clearance in every single aspect of it."
