Jannik Sinner reveals the name of his new coach

World No. 10 Jannik Sinner has announced Simone Vagnozzi as his new coach. Sinner, 20, decided to fire his entire coaching staff as he split with his long-term coach Riccardo Piatti. After days of speculating who would be his next coach, Sinner revealed former world No.

161 Vagnozzi as his new coach. "Happy to announce I’ll be working with Simone Vagnozzi as my coach moving forward and he will be heading up my team. Currently we have no plans to add any more team members at this time but we will review the situation as we go.

Excited to get started on this new chapter, Forza," Sinner announced on Thursday night.

Sinner grateful to Piatti

Last week, it was reported that Sinner had split with Piatti. This Wednesday, Sinner took to Twitter to confirm the news.

"After many successful years together, my coaching team and I have decided to part ways. I'd like to thank Riccardo, Dalibor, Claudio, Andrea, Cristian, and Gaia for everything they have done for me from the beginning of my career until now.

Riccardo especially, he taught me many things that will forever remain a part of my tennis. Many special memories were made and I'll always look back on the time we spent together fondly," SInner announced on Wednesday.

The news of Sinner splitting with Piatti came as a surprise. Earlier this month, Piatti revealed Sinner could add a former Grand Slam champion to his coaching staff. However, no one expected Sinner to fire Piatti. “The emergence of Alcaraz is something positive, it stimulates him and keeps him on the tightrope at the same time, it's good.

Alcaraz works with Juan Carlos Ferrero, a great champion. I don't rule out Jannik adding a former Grand Slam champion to his team in the future, which I already did when working with Milos Raonic. I will always be here, but if you want to improve, you have to be constantly open to new things," Piatti told Corriere della Sera earlier this month.
