ATP Santiago wildcard recipients announced

Alejandro Tabilo, Nicolas Jarry and Thiago Seyboth Wild have all been awarded wildcards into next week's ATP event in Santiago, per Michal Samulski.

Tabilo, who is enjoying a career-high ranking of No.

111 in the world, is set to make his third consecutive appearance on the clay courts of Santiago. Tabilo didn't enjoy deep runs in either of his first two Santiago campaigns as he picked up back-to-back round-of-16 exits at the tournament in 2020 and 2021.

Jarry, 26, debuted at the Santiago event last year. Former world No. 38 Jarry didn't enjoy an impressive debut as he was beaten by Frances Tiafoe in the Santiago first round. Seyboth Wild, 21, is set to make his second Santiago appearance.

Seyboth Wild enjoyed an impressive Santiago debut in 2020 as he beat Casper Ruud in the fianl to win his first ATP title.

Tabilo aims a strong Santiago run

Tabilo kicked off his Golden Swing campaign with a runner-up finish in Cordoba.

Tabilo missed out on a great chance to win his first ATP title as Albert Ramos-Vinolas pulled off a stunning comeback to beat the Chilean in the Cordoba final 4-6 6-3 6-4. Tabilo was up by a set and a break but Ramos-Vinolas recovered to win the second set and force a decider.

Tabilo was up by two breaks in the third set but even that wasn't enough as Ramos-Vinolas won the third set to complete a big comeback. Tabilo didn't win the title but was still happy with his week in Cordoba. "It was a tough match.

Still pretty happy with the whole week. Had a few chances at the end, but fell short. Still a positive match," Tabilo said after the final. "Obviously there are little details to finish the match, which took over, a little bit of nerves.

I've just got to learn from these mistakes, get some experience and hopefully next time I can do better." It remains to be seen how far can Tabilo go next week in Santiago.
