Chilean tennis star Cristian Garin has pulled out of this week's Davis Cup tie against Slovenia and next week's opening Masters event of the season in Indian Wells, per We Love Tennis. Garin, ranked at No. 26 in the world, hinted last week he could stop his career as he admitted that playing tennis hasn't been enjoyable for him this season.

Garin has been hampered by a shoulder injury for quite some time and his recent results haven't been that good. Last week, Garin was beaten in straight sets by Alejandro Tabilo in his Santiago opener. “Right now it's horrible for me to play tennis.

I've tried so hard and it doesn't work. This Friday, I will make a decision about my future. I'll see what I'm going to do, because it's not worth continuing to play like this. I give 100% and try hard. Even though people think I don't, I love tennis and I love it.

Sometimes there are bad times and you have to keep going. The only thing I want is to play without worrying about the shoulder, I go through a lot of ups and downs. I still feel a little pain," Garin said after the Tabilo loss.

Garin has lost his last four matches

Garin's campaign in South America wasn't a memorable one as he went 0-3 during his South American trip. After losing to Gael Monfils in the Australian Open third round, Garin returned to action in Cordoba, where he was beaten by Sebastian Baez in his opener at the tournament.

Garin's next stop was Rio de Janeiro, where he was easily beaten by Federico Coria in the first round. Garin also competed in Santiago last week, where he picked up a straight-set defeat to Tabilo. Garin hasn't yet withdrawn from the Miami Masters so there is a chance he decides to return to action later this month.
