Italian tennis star Matteo Berrettini has confirmed that he has indeed split with Australia's Ajla Tomljanovic. In March, it was rumored that Berrettini and Tomljanovic had split after dating for over two years. In 2019, Berrettini and Tomljanovic went public with their relationship.
Now, 26-year-old Berrettini is single again and he says he is not obsessed about finding another girlfriend. While single, Berrettini has been spending more time with his team and family. "Yeah, I'm single but it's not like something that I am looking for, like, it's not that I'm waking up and have to find love.
It's just something that is happening, it's good for me, if it doesn't, it's another day, you know. But, yeah, overall, I'm spending more time with my team, I spent a lot of time with my family when I was injured, and I enjoyed a different kind of life a little bit," Berrettini said, as quoted on Sportskeeda.
Berrettini enjoying a great grass season
After winning Stuttgart in his first grass tournament of the year, Berrettini made it all the way at the Queen's Club. On Sunday, Berrettini beat Filip Krajinovic 7-5 6-4 in the final at Queen's.
“There are so many emotions," Berrettini said after winning Queen's. "The last thing I expected was to come back from surgery and win two titles in a row. Defend my title here at one of the most prestigious tournaments we have.
I don’t want to cry. Most of the job is thanks to them, my team and my family. I just can’t believe it”. Berrettini is now 9-0 on grass this season. Last year, Berrettini finished the grass season with an 11-1 record.
A year ago, Berrettini won Queen's and then finished runner-up at Wimbledon. Now, Berrettini is hoping to have a perfect grass season and lift his maiden Grand Slam title at Wimbledon.
