Spanish tennis star Roberto Bautista Agut has tested positive for COVID-19 and he is out of Wimbledon. On Thursday, Bautista Agut was scheduled to meet Daniel Elahi Galan Riveros in the Wimbledon second round. Unfortunately, Bautista Agut woke up feeling unwell, and when the results from his test returned, it revealed he was COVID positive.

Bautista Agut made a pretty strong at Wimbledon as he ousted Attila Balasz 6-1 6-0 6-3 in the first round. Following the Bautista Agut withdrawal, Galan Riveros automatically progressed into the third round. "Today I have notified Wimbledon of my cancellation.

I have tested positive for Covid-19. Fortunately, the symptoms are not very serious, but I think it is the best decision. Thanks for your support. I hope to come back soon," Bautista Agut wrote on Twitter.

On Monday, 2017 Wimbledon finalist Marin Cilic tested positive for COVID.

The day after, 2021 Wimbledon finalist Berrettini tested positive for COVID and was forced to pull out of the tournament. "I am heartbroken to announce that I need to withdraw from @wimbledon due to a positive COVID-19 test result.

I have had flu symptoms and been isolating the last few days. Despite symptoms not being severe, I decided it was important to take another test this morning to protect the health and safety of my fellow competitors and everyone else involved in the tournament.

I have no words to describe the extreme disappointment I feel. The dream is over for this year, but I will be back stronger. Thank you for the support," Berrettini announced on Tuesday. Wimbledon has now lost two stars due to COVID and there is certainly fear that more players will test positive.

For Bautista Agut, it's certainly disappointing to end his Wimbledon on such a way. In 2019, Bautista Agut reached the Wimbledon semifinal before losing to Novak Djokovic. Bautista is 34 but he is expected to return to Wimbledon in the future.
