World No. 4 Carlos Alcaraz has congratulated fellow Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta on a "deserved" Montreal Masters title. In the Montreal Masters final, Carreno Busta defeated Hubert Hurkacz 3-6 6-3 6-3 to lift his first Masters title.

Carreno Busta clinched his first Masters title at the age of 31. "Pablo!!!! Congratulations and more than deserved! Happy for you," Alcaraz tweeted.

This season, Alcaraz has won two Masters titles - Miami and Madrid.

Now, another Spaniard has become a Masters champion this season. "It's an amazing feeling to be a Masters 1000 winner," Carreno Busta said after winning Montreal. "It's the best title of my career for sure and I don't know how I'm feeling in this moment.

I know that during all the week we worked very hard, also the weeks before. It's very important to be very positive all the time. It's not my best season this year. I lost some matches that probably other seasons I didn't lose, but I just tried to continue believing in my team, in myself and in my game." Alcaraz maybe didn't enjoy a big week in Montreal, but his fellow compatriot Carreno Busta did.

Alcaraz's campaign in Montreal came to an end in the second round, when he suffered a surprise defeat to Tommy Paul. After the match, Alcaraz - who was the second-seeded player in the Montreal main draw - admitted the pressure was too big on him and he couldn't handle it.

This week, Alcaraz is hoping to bounce back at the Cincinnati Masters. After a first round bye, Alcaraz plays Mackenzie McDonald in the second round. During his pre-tournament press conference, Alcaraz said he will try to "use the pressure in my favor" this week. Alcaraz would certainly absolutely love to make a deep Cincinnati run and boost his confidence ahead of the US Open.
