Grand Slam legend urges people to stop joking about Tom Brady's divorce

Former six-time Grand Slam doubles champion Rennae Stubbs has urged people and fans to stop joking about Tom Brady's marital problems. Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, is reportedly getting divorced. After 13 years of marriage, Brady and his wife Gisele Bundchen have reportedly hired divorce lawyers.

Brady and Bundchen share two kids together as Stubbs feels they deserve some sympathy. "All the jokes about Tom and Giselle, people they have kids, come on, just shut it down for the night. No matter what you think of the man or them, this is not a joke," Stubbs said.

"No one should be happy about this kind of stuff. They're human beings and life is hard."

Why is Brady divorcing Bundchen

Brady, 45, retired from the NFL after the 2021 season.

As one of the reasons behind his decision to retire, Brady cited his desire to spend more time with his wife and kids. Then just 40 days after announcing his retirement, Brady announced he was returning to the NFL for his 22nd season.

In August, Brady was absent from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' training camp for 11 days. Then, Page Six reported that Brady and Bundchen had "an epic fight" and that they were living separately. On Tuesday, Page Six reported that Brady and Bundchen are calling it quits and that they have hired divorce lawyers.

“I never actually thought this argument would be the end of them, but it looks like it is,” one source told Page Six. “I don’t think there will be any coming back now. They both have lawyers and are looking at what a split will entail, who gets what and what the finances will be”.

Recently, Serena Williams was asked whether there was a chance of seeing her again on a tennis court. Williams responded by saying that Brady "started an amazing trend."
