Daniil Medvedev underlines one thing regarding ATP Finals

Daniil Medvedev has underlined that "everyone is the favorite" at the ATP Finals. Medvedev, 26, is set to make his fourth consecutive appearance at the prestigious season-ending tournament. This year, the eight players battling at the ATP Finals are Medvedev, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Andrey Rublev and Taylor Fritz.

Carlos Alcaraz secured an ATP Finals spot a long time ago but an injury forced him to withdraw from the tournament. "Everyone is the favorite here at Nitto ATP Finals. Last tournament of the year, you cannot be so ready mentally and physically but you have to, cause you always play a top guy here and it's really tough.

I honestly think everyone can win this title," Medvedev said, per Mario Boccardi.

Medvedev underlined there are no easy matches at the ATP Finals

Medvedev is aiming to have another great ATP Finals run.

After failing to make it past the group stage in his ATP Finals debut in 2019, Medvedev made it all the way at the season-ending tournament in 2020 after beating Dominic Thiem in the final. Last year, Medvedev enjoyed another deep ATP Finals run but didn't win the title as he ended runner-up to Alexander Zverev in the final.

“I try throughout the season to keep my mind fresh as much as I can. Everyone at the end of the season is a little bit exhausted and that is normal. But I am trying with my team to do the best I can to keep myself fit physically and mentally.

So far, we have been doing a good job as I have been able to play well at the end of the season," Medvedev said. Medvedev was drawn in Red Group with Djokovic, Tsitsipas and Rublev. In his first Round Robin match, Medvedev will be taking on fellow Russian Rublev. It remains to be seen if Medvedev can win his second ATP Finals title this year.
