Andy Murray roasts Piers Morgan over Messi-Ronaldo, TV personality savagely responds

Andy Murray has seemingly made it clear that he feels Lionel Messi has the edge over Cristiano Ronaldo in the GOAT debate. British TV personality Piers Morgan, who famously conducted the interview with Ronaldo after which the football star was released from Manchester United, has been stating in recent times that Ronaldo has the edge in the GOAT race over Messi.

After Messi scored a stunning goal in a 2-0 win over Mexico at the Qatar World Cup, Murray had a message for Morgan. "Oops. @piersmorgan," Murray tweeted.

However, Morgan had a response ready.

Morgan responded: "I can see why you like him, both the 2nd best players in your sport to come from your own country. #maradona #perry."

Why did Morgan say this to Murray?

Murray, 35, is a three-time Grand Slam champion and a former world No 1. Fred Perry, the player to who Morgan was referring as the best British player ever, had eight Grand Slam titles.

Also, Perry had two titles at Wimbledon. In 2013, Murray captured his first Wimbledon title - that was the first time a British male tennis player won Wimbledon since Perry did it in 1936. When it comes to Morgan hashtagging Diego Maradona, he wanted to say that Messi is not greater than Argentinian football legend Maradona.

Meanwhile, Murray confirmed a couple of days ago that he intends to start the 2023 season at the Adelaide International. “I’ll be starting the year in Australia, which I always really enjoy. Playing at the Adelaide International for the first time is something I’m looking forward to.

The crowds in Australia love their tennis and they’ve always been very supportive. I’ve been working hard in the off season and the Adelaide International will be great preparation for the Australian Open. I’m looking forward to seeing what Adelaide and 2023 brings," Murray said.
