Nick Kyrgios confirmed he is set to play again soon after a troll suggested he couldn't play tennis because he was "busy buying handbags." This past week, Australia competed in the Davis Cup Finals knockout stage in Malaga.

Without Kyrgios, Australia made the final before losing to Canada. Under one of Alex de Minaur's Instagram posts, a fan tagged Kyrgios and wrote: "Busy buying handbags again or something." Kyrgios cheekily answered: "About to go to Saudi for 6 figures actually."

Kyrgios set to play at the Diriyah Tennis Cup

After the US Open, Kyrgios returned home and he didn't play until the ATP Finals, where he competed in the doubles event with good friend Thanasi Kokkinakis.

Next up on Kyrgios' schedule will be the Diriyah Tennis Cup, which is taking place between 08-10 December in Riyadh. The Diriyah Tennis Cup is set to feature some of the biggest names of the game as Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas are also expected to play.

When it comes to Kyrgios, he is expected about going to Saudi Arabia for the first time. “I’m very curious to go to a new place. I’ve never been before and I’m going with my girlfriend. We’re very excited to see what it’s about.

I’ve got a very close family friend who lives there, and he only speaks very highly about Saudi. I’m super excited to get there. I’m always looking forward to (playing) these sorts of events. It’s very important for the fans to be involved.

Personally, I love going to places where they may not know so much about tennis, to try and draw some attention and get them to enjoy it. I think that’s important. When I retire from tennis, I want to know that I left a mark and made a lot of new fans of the sport,” Kyrgios said of playing in Riyadh.
