Daniil Medvedev curses out a fan at Australian Open (WATCH)

Daniil Medvedev cursed out a fan toward the end of his Australian Open first-round match. Serving for the match against Marcos Giron, Medvedev was caught telling a fan to "f--- off." Medvedev was given a code violation for his language but still went on to serve out for the match and claim a 6-0 6-1 6-2.

Medvedev delivered an absolutely impressive performance against Giron and Eurosport tennis expert Tim Henman felt the Russian's reaction was strange considering the lead he had against the American. “It was a very strange time to react like that.

It was a very good performance but a really strange ending with the last two points with his reaction and swearing at someone in the audience. Maybe a bit of afterthought from last year," Henman said on Eurosport.

Medvedev crushed Giron in his opener at Melbourne Park

Medvedev got off to the best possible start as he bageled Giron to dominantly win the first set.

After not winning a single game in the first set, Giron served out the second game of the second set to finally get on the board. But Medvedev then again went on a run, claiming back-to-back breaks in the fourth and sixth games to go up by two sets.

In the third set, Giron had a 2-1 lead through the first three games. Then, Medvedev earned breaks in the fifth and seventh games to win five games in a row and complete a three-set win. “I’m really happy with my level.

It's never easy in the first rounds, you never know what the level is, I told my coach today I was playing really good in practice before the tournament, and then I step on the warm-up court today, and I’m like, the sensations are really different.

It’s always like this, when the tournament starts it’s a new story kind of, so I'm happy I was able to play well, run well, was physically feeling great, and looking forward to my next matches," Medvedev told Eurosport. Medvedev plays John Millman in the Australian Open second round.
