Stefanos Tsitsipas and Hubert Hurkacz have signed up to play in Halle, the tournament announced.

Tsitsipas, 24, is set to make his third appearance on the grass courts of Halle.

Tsitsipas, ranked at No 3 in the world, hasn't had much success in Halle so far. In 2018, Tsitsipas suffered a round-of-16 loss in his Halle debut. Last year, Tsitsipas returned to Halle and again exited the tournament in the round-of-16 after losing to Nick Kyrgios.

On the other side, 26-year-old Hurkacz is set to make his fourth appearance in Halle. After picking up back-to-back Halle first-round losses in 2019 and 2021, Hurkacz made it all the way on the grass courts of Halle last year.

Previously, Kyrgios, Daniil Medvedev, Casper Ruud, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Jannik Sinner also signed up to compete in Halle. Last year, Hurkacz and Medvedev made the Halle final.

Even though Medvedev was the favorite in the Halle final, it was Hurkacz who ended up winning the title as the Pole ousted the Russian 6-1 6-4. After dismantling Medvedev for his first title on grass, Hurkacz couldn't hide his happiness.

“I’m super excited, I’ve been waiting a little bit for my first [title] this year. I’m happy to win my first ATP 500 title and of course, on the grass it is very special. I was serving pretty good today and got a little bit of momentum from the first game.

I saved a couple of deuces on my service game and then I managed to break Daniil’s serve so I definitely got a little bit of momentum. I’m very happy with the win in front of such a great crowd here," Hurkacz said after winning his first title on grass in Halle. It remains to be seen if Hurkacz can defend his Halle title this year.
