During his Indian Wells semifinal against Daniil Medvedev, Frances Tiafoe produced a funny incident on the court after his opponent managed to get a break. Tiafoe hit the Russian in the groin area with a ball he brought with him after his serve was broken.

Daniil Medvedev reacted with a smile and reach-out with his racket.

This proves again Medvedev's state of mind remains strong whatever happens on the court, as Andy Roddick also pointed out recently.

"There’s not a lot of players who you can listen to a 90 second monolog on how much the surface sucks. Then he comes back and creates one of the best matches of the year so far. And he stays there and that’s just the way he ticks the idiosyncrasies.

I love it cause it never affects the way he competes. There's a difference between someone who complains about everything and who throws the toys around. But you know they’re going to be there at the next point. I got time for that guy.

We don’t give him enough credit for his problem-solving. He started coming forward a little bit more and he has to do that on the surface that he doesn’t like," Roddick said on Tennis Channel, per Sportskeeda. Related: Andy Roddick: Tantrums never affect the way Daniil Medvedev competes.

How did the Tiafoe-Medvedev semifinal unfold?

Medvedev set an Indian Wells final against Carlos Alcaraz after winning in Dubai, Qatar, and Rotterdam. After the Russian won against Tiafoe (7-5, 7-6), he achieved his fourth ATP final in five weeks.

And if that wasn't impressive enough, Daniil has a record of 19 consecutive wins. His clash against Tiafoe was, however, a challenging one. See the full match report in this article: ATP Indian Wells: Daniil Medvedev edges Frances Tiafoe and reaches final.
