American tennis legend Jimmy Connors says it is impressive how 19-year-old Carlos Alcaraz goes about his business. Alcaraz, who will be turning 20 in May, has already accomplished some pretty big things as he is a Grand Slam champion, a three-time Masters champion, as well as the youngest No 1 in tennis history.

"The one thing that really stood out for me, he's young — 19-20 years old. He has the desire. You can tell. The way he goes about his business, he already seems to be playing at a very mature level for a 19 or 20-year-old kid.

He seems to have that desire to be the best, which he is right now, he's gone to No. 1 in the world, and rightfully so. You go out and play a tournament that was in the desert and you come out winning, without losing a set and beating the players that he has beaten.

He deserves it," Connors said on the Advantage Connors podcast, per Sportskeeda.

Connors: Alcaraz is going to be hard to stop

After Alcaraz became a Grand Slam champion at the 2022 US Open, coach Juan Carlos Ferrero said his pupil unlocked just around 60% of his potential.

"He's got the attitude and if he stays healthy and keeps that desire, he's going to be hard to stop. In the last couple of years, I've watched a lot of these young guys coming up. No one has stood out in the desire department and the willingness to give everything every time you go out there like he has," Connors said.

Alcaraz's work ethic and commitment to the game remind of Rafael Nadal. Just like Nadal, Alcaraz is completely focused on his career and constantly trying to improve his game. Because of that, Connors and many others believe Alcaraz is here to stay and that he will become an all-time great.
