Stefanos Tsitsipas reveals his honest feelings on Daniil Medvedev's antics

Stefanos Tsitsipas suggests he doesn't have a problem with Daniil Medvedev, revealing he "sometimes finds tunny" the Russian's antics on the court. In the past, Tsitsipas and Medvedev had their moments on the court as the Russian appeared to be wanting to fight the Greek after their 2018 Miami match.

During their 2022 Australian Open match, Medvedev got extremely annoyed by Tsitsipas' father Apostolos, claiming that the Greek tennis star was getting coached every single point. Tsitsipas was on Instagram Live with his girlfriend Paula Badosa when he was asked to share his thoughts on Medvedev.

Tsitsipas on Medvedev: I sometimes find his antics funny

“I find him funny sometimes on the court, when he does his antics. Obviously, you want to go and play tennis and not spend 10 minutes talking, but sometimes they’re fun.

Especially when you see them again on replay. He has a very unorthodox tennis. One of the most unorthodox tennis players that I have seen in my career. But somehow, he makes it work. He makes it work to his favor pretty well, in fact.

He has a very unique style. And a difficult player to play – because he serves big. He doesn’t make a lot of unforced errors. He doesn’t miss a lot. And he has the ball in play most of the time. He is not a creator, as a player.

He doesn’t create play. He doesn’t construct much of the play. But instead, he waits. He reads. And patience is one of his strongest components,” Tsitsipas said on Instagram Live. Tsitsipas and Medvedev have played against each other 12 times.

So far, Medvedev has had more success in their meetings as he leads the head-to-head 8-4. This season, Tsitsipas and Medvedev have met once - the Russian defeated the Greek in the Rome Masters semifinal.
