Jannik Sinner was fourth in the Race and from next Monday he will also be number 4 in the world, behind only Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev. And with yesterday's victory over the Spaniardm he demonstrated that he can fit in very well among these champions.

Sinner seemed to be really ill in the match against Grigor Dimitrov, but the Italian recovered and proved to be a real anathema for Carlos Alcaraz, disoriented and in difficulty with the peremptory return of the Italian tennis player, now ahead in the head-to-head head.

Even when he won against Sinner, Alcaraz showed that he had to fight until the end, as demonstrated by the victory with match points canceled at the US Open 2022. Alcaraz suffers Sinner is a fact and Jannik is increasingly closer to the big names on the circuit.

It's not long now but in the meantime Sinner is in the history of Italian tennis. New ATP number 4, in the Open era only Adriano Panatta managed it several years ago. Now Sinner has achieved it and the next step, maybe next year will be entering the Top -3 and who knows, one day not too far away, the victory of a Grand Slam title.

The next step for Jannik Sinner

Now the next step will surely arrive in a few days in Shanghai, and it could arrive even without playing, with Jannik awaiting qualification for the ATP Finals in Turin, his first direct qualification.

Number 4 in the Race with 4675 points, 60 points ahead of Tsitsipas, he is still quite distant from Medvedev, at around 7400 points. Sinner is deservedly in fourth place in the ATP ranking and the fans, despite all this excessive controversy relating to his failure to participate in the Davis Cup, have a new Italian champion.

We already knew it, but now the numbers speak clearly. Today, Sinner will play the China Open final against Daniil Medvedev. In the head-to-head, the Russian leads 6-0 against the Italian. Daniil showd in the last challenges to be a real nightmare for Jannik, who this time would like to reverse this course.
