Holger Rune bluntly but also hilariously reacted to chair umpire Damien Dumusois mistaking him for Casper Ruud in Basel. On Friday, Denmark's Rune was playing against Tomas Martin Etcheverry. During a changeover, the cameras picked up Rune discussing something with Dumusois.

Dumusois seemingly wasn't interested in arguing with Rune so he attempted to stop the Dane's complaints by saying: "Most of the time you are good, Casper," the chair umpire was heard telling Rune. The Dane bluntly responded: "I'm not Casper."

Rune survived a thriller against Etcheverry

Rune, the top-seeded player in Basel, had to work extremely hard to secure a tight 6-1 3-6 7-6 (6) win over world No 32 Etcheverry.

In the first set, Rune claimed back-to-back breaks in the fourth and sixth games en route to easily winning the opener. After losing the first set, Etcheverry bounced back in the second set by earning his first break in the fourth game and then holding his service for the remainder of the set to force a decider.

In the third set, Rune saved two break points but also missed out on his three break points as the decider had to be resolved in a tie-break. In the third-set tie-break, Rune had a 6-4 lead before missing out on two consecutive match points.

Then at 6-6, Rune's forehand hit the net - the ball bounced into Etcheverry's court all while the Argentine had no chance of reaching the ball. In the next point, Etcheverry served a double fault and Rune escaped with a three-set win.

"It was super difficult and Tomas has played great all tournament and had a super season. It was a fun match to play. I was super lucky at the end, I have never had as much luck in my life. Of course I am happy to win but I feel for him as I know how it feels myself when these kind of things happen.

I am happy with my level. It was a tough match physically, so I am proud of myself;" Rune said after edging out Etcheverry.
