Nick Kyrgios seemingly absolutely loved a stat showing his 16-8 record in matches against 2023 ATP Finals participants and suggested that he could have also beaten Jannik Sinner if not for a game penalty ruled against him.

This week in Turin, the 2023 ATP Finals player field features Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Holger Rune, and Andrey Rublev. Against Djokovic, Medvedev, Zverev, Tsitsipas, and Rublev, Kyrgios has a winning record.

The only player on the list with a winning record against Kyrgios is Sinner, who beat the Australian 7-6 (3) 6-3 in the 2022 Miami Masters round-of-16. After losing the first set to Sinner, Kyrgios received a game penalty for smashing his racket between sets.

Meanwhile, Kyrgios has never played against Alcaraz and Rune. Kyrgios shared his brother's Instagram Story that showed the stat and wrote: "Game penalty against Sinner for nothing also."

Kyrgios has a gig at this year's ATP Finals

After making his ATP Finals debut last year with Thanasi Kokkinakis in doubles, Kyrgios is also making his tennis analyst debut at this year's ATP Finals.

Last week, Tennis Channel announced Kyrgios would be joining them in the role of an analyst for this year's ATP Finals. "Nick Kyrgios, whose electric style of play and straight-to-the-point conversational approach have endeared him to millions of fans around the world, is joining Tennis Channel as an analyst during its coverage of the ATP Finals November 12-19.

It will be Kyrgios’ first time working with the network, and it will happen during the most exclusive event in men’s tennis, with just the top-eight singles players and doubles teams qualifying for the event based on points earned during the 2023 season," Tennis Channel said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Kyrgios hopes to return to tennis at the start of the 2024 season after playing just one match this year due to knee and wrist injuries.
