The organization of the last day of the groups at the ATP Finals angered the fans who purchased tickets to attend the evening session. The last day of the group stage of the Finals is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday 17 November 2023, for the red group of singles and doubles events.
Carlos Alcaraz vs Daniil Medvedev, the most interesting match of the four scheduled will be held in the daytime session, rather than in the evening, as might have been expected. A choice that fans didn't like very much. Tomorrow's first match at the PalaAlpitour in Turin, starting from 12:00 local time, is a match that will give away second place in the semi-final after the one already won by the strong Ram-Salisbury duo.
The world number 2, the Dutch Wesley Koolhof and the British Neal Skupski, will challenge the doubles formed by the Indian Rohan Bopanna and the Australian Matthew Ebden.
The schedule for the evening session
Following, not before 2.30pm local time, the highly anticipated match between the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and the Russian Daniil Medvedev, with the Russian already qualified for the semi-finals.
The Spaniard is playing all his chances of staying in the competition: he will have to win. After the defeat against the German Alexander Zverev, the young 20-year-old showed signs of recovery in the last match won against the other Russian Andrey Rublev.
From 4:00pm local time, Ram and Salisbury will take to the court to challenge the Australians Hijikata and Kubler, still without victories in this 2023 edition of the ATP Finals. The day will be closed by the challenge between Alexander Zverev and Andrey Rublev, from 8:30pm local time.
Everything will also depend on the result between Alcaraz-Medvedev: with a victory for the Spaniard, in fact, the German would practically be out. All that remains is to wait for the definitive composition of the draw for the semi-finals in singles and doubles, which will then be played on Saturday.
