Alexander Bublik again found himself in a little bit of a heated situation as Roberto Carballes Baena seemingly twice tried to intentionally hit the Kazakh.

In the Madrid Masters second round, No. 17 seed Bublik easily lost the first set to 68th-ranked Carballes Baena but then recovered to take a 1-6 6-2 5-1 lead. Then at 30-15 in his service game in the seventh game, Carballes Baena hit a first serve that seemed to be aiming at Bublik's body. The second serve was no different - but just like the first serve - it was wide out but didn't hit Bublik.

Bublik took it all calmly as at one moment he was shown smiling at Carballes Baena's antics. But most importantly for Bublik, he remained unfazed and shortly after the incident sealed a 1-6 6-2 6-2 comeback win.

Bublik made a very slow start to the match as he got broken in the very first game of the match. In the remainder of the set, Bublik's poor display continued as the Kazakh also suffered consecutive breaks in the fifth and seventh games.

But when the second set started, Bublik instantly started playing much better as he earned his first break in the opening game of the set. A couple of games later, Bublik broke Carballes Baena again in the seventh game for a 5-2 lead before serving out for a decider in the following game.

At the start of the third set, Carballes Baena managed to hold on to his opening serve. But then, Bublik went on to win the next five games and open a comfortable 5-1 lead.

In the seventh game - when Carballes Beane attempted to hit Bublik - the Spaniard managed to end the Kazakh's run of five consecutive games won. But it didn't change much as Bublik realized his first match point on his serve in the eighth game.
