Now it is all settled and official: a total of 10 Italian tennis players will participate in the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Italian national team will present itself with a really rich and talented squad, aiming to give itself at least one medal among the different competitions scheduled.

Expectations are somewhat high for the year so far experienced by the movement and the excellent results achieved at Roland Garros, which will host the five-ring event on those courts. The Federation has announced all the convocations, including also the doubles: overall, the Italian team will feature 4 players in the men's draw, 3 athletes in the women's singles and 2 pairs in both men's and women's doubles.

The news appeared in these hours on the official website of CONI.

In the men's individual, as already communicated by the ITF based on the ranking, Jannik Sinner, Lorenzo Musetti, Matteo Arnaldi and Luciano Darderi are ready to do battle, while in the women's there will be Jasmine Paolini, Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Lucia Bronzetti.

Jannik Sinner will play doubles

Among the men, Andrea Vavassori, qualified by right thanks to the top 10 in doubles achieved after Roland Garros, naturally chose to live the Olympic experience with his partner Simone Bolelli. The two pushed themselves to the final act of the tournament in Paris and aim to repeat themselves in about a month, with the intent of bringing home a historic medal.

Jannik Sinner will also play doubles and will be joined by Lorenzo Musetti, a clay court specialist who will be able to use this opportunity to relaunch himself and gain further confidence. For the women, the best chances of a medal will be given to Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani, the tenth and last Italian player to qualify.

The two, after the victory at the Internazionali d'Italia and the final in Paris, can really dream big. Elisabetta Cocciaretto and Lucia Bronzetti will also try, as a couple, and will thus compete in two competitions.

The only doubt remains linked to the mixed doubles: Italy could also participate in this draw. In this case, the main suspects should be Vavassori and Errani, currently engaged in only one competition.
