David Goffin picks up the ATP Comeback Player of the Year Award in London

David Goffin rounded off the best season of his career this afternoon by receiving the ATP Comeback Player of the Year Award. He was presented the award by Chris Kermode at the O2 Arena straight after Novak Djokovic's victory over Kei Nishikori. The world number 22 has won 44 out of his last 48 matches and has catapulted himself up the rankings from 110th at the start of the year.

Goffin has won four Challenger titles as well as two ATP 250 titles in Metz and Kitzbuhel this year. Speaking briefly in an on-court interview. Goffin described his year as “beautiful” and said he will spend the off-season trying to improve his game even more.

“It's an amazing feeling, it's been a beautiful year for me”. Goffin told the crowd
“I think a few players deserved this trophy”
“I will have a break now and then improve my game again.

To get to the top of the rankings, I'm going to give it my best” Goffin ends the season with a 2014 win-loss record of 50-19 which is a 72% winning rate. Highlights of Goffin's most recent victory in the ATP 250 Moselle Open in Metz can be seen in the below video.
