Tennis: The second seed Milos Raonic had to win a close 3-set match whereas the third seed Tomas Berdych registered a straight sets win as both went through to the second round of the ABN AMRO World Tournament (Rotterdam). The World No.6, Raonic was up against the Russian qualifier Andrey Kuznetsov, who is ranked 82 places below the Canadian.

Kuznetsova got an early break to go 4-1 but Raonic levelled it at 4-4. The set was forced into a tie-break Kuznetsov won 7-5. The second set was easy for Raonic as he broke Kuznetsov twice to win it 6-1 but the third set was close again as both players went level until 5-5, but then Raonic won two games in a row to go through in 1 hour and 55 minutes. The third seed, Berdych won the first set 6-1 against the lucky loser Tobias Kamke and led 4-0 in the second, but Kamke made a mini-comeback to level it at 5-5.

Berdych broke his opponent there and won the second set 7-5.
